Boarding schools and orphanages have peculiar “closed” environment, generating many features, complexes and behaviors in children, each of them have experienced its own tragedy. Many of the pupils of boarding schools were mistreated and abused by dysfunctional parents. Some lost their parents at the early age and had to get used to life outside the family. Therefore, all programs that support the process of social adaptation of these children are important and valuable. During the meetings with volunteers children master the skills necessary for independent and full life.

Project "Day of Hope" (Kiev, Boyarka, Trypillya, Odessa)

"Birthday party" is an event with cognitive and entertaining parts which is held at the each boarding school. During the event children who were born in current month receive individual gifts and eat birthday cake. During the cognitive part we talk with children about friendship, respect, support, human values.

The whole life of future graduates of boarding schools often depends on the ability to make the right choice. Therefore, healthy principles and positive example of other people for each of them are so important. Entertaining part includes various games, competitions, disco party. Children learn the new when they play games. Thus the entertaining part is the continuation of the cognitive. All programs are prepared taking into account the needs of audiences and specific of boarding schools. Various pathologies (problems of mental and physical development) require special attention and individual approach to the pupils of different boarding schools.
  
Project "Get-together" (Kharkov, Donetsk, Khartsizk, Kremenchuk, Kupiansk)

This is the weekend project, when the children are free from classes and need to organize their leisure. When there is no interesting activities, it is time for pranks and troubles.

Project "Get-together" is the best prevention of such situations.
The event consists of three main blocks: games, cognitive and creative (making of handicrafts) activities. The approach of reward and stimulation is actively enabled in this project.


Project "Development" (Kiev)

The purpose of the project - development of creative abilities, which help to master elementary skills. The program is organized by volunteers in the form of circles.

Children learn to work in team, acquire the skills needed in adult life. Such events act as a kind of art therapy. Communication with volunteers in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere relieves stress and helps children become more open and natural. A creative work with different materials: painting, applique work, modeling, manufacturing crafts - promotes the development of fine motor skills and imaginative thinking.

The skills acquired through participation in the program may become a starting point in choosing a future occupation. On graduation from boarding school an orphaned child stay often alone with their fears and anxieties. If he has at least superficial knowledge of any profession, he may feel more confident. The most important challenge for graduates of boarding schools is to learn to live independently, providing their own needs. Such programs are part of the learning process.

Project «Club of Friends» (Kiev)

The project involves 60 children and 35 volunteers.

The purpose of this project - to promote healthy and highly moral way of life, prevention of drug addiction, alcoholism and a disorderly sexual life among pupils of boarding schools.

Need of the project is dictated by the lack of communication at a boarding school with outside people. This lack of attention creates a lot of complexes: unsociability, hostility, frustration and loneliness.
The program gives children the opportunity to meet with volunteers, negotiate urgent issues, learn many new things, overcome complexes, learn to maintain relations with each other.
The program involves trained volunteers who impact positively on the children.
The program consists of five blocks:

*Knowledge of own feelings

* Positive thinking

* Work on the character

* Building relationships with others

* Willingness to adulthood


The program includes trainings, games, mini-lectures and the use of visual materials, spectacles, large-scale use of different types of arts, conversation.
Meeting duration is two hours.

Project "Wings of Hope" (Kiev)

Purpose of this project - to give moral and spiritual guidance for full life to orphans and children with special needs through running plays and theatrical events.

The project includes: training in the theatrical studio "Wings" and conducting activities at the boarding school with artists of the studio.
The program of theatrical studio:
* Staging performances
* Acting classes, stage speech and movement
* Opportunity to try himself in the role of the director, make-up artist, interior decorator
* Psychological training on the development of imagination, attention, creative
skills, teamwork skills, decision of personal problems
Theater Studio "Wings" unifies children and teenagers from 9 to 16 years.
Studio is guided by fund employee, psychologist, with the support of volunteers. Classes are held twice a week.
Often, when the long conversations and suggestions do not work, the theater comes to the rescue, or rather that therapeutic effect, which it has. Stage action not only tells "what" to do, but "how."
Children at orphanages and boarding schools have one-sided experience, and basically, it is "negative". Through performances, guys have an opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of another life or another time, go beyond the walls of the orphanage, broaden the scope of children's vision.
Situations take place before their eyes, which they have never seen before, but now it is absolutely real. It enriches the children, expands horizons, develops the imagination, helps to see the world in all its diversity, and believe in goodness. Search the best solutions to complex situations together with the characters of play, understand that the right choice is not the easiest but sometimes it is the most difficult, and nevertheless - it's worth it! And it is very important to see an example of peers with spiritual and "good" principles of life. In order that after graduation children could know that there is an alternative to the criminal and immoral life, and they can realize the one that will benefit them and society in whole.

Project "Life skills" (orphanage "Family" in Boyarka, boarding school in Trypillya)

The purpose of these lessons - to teach children deprived of parental care to practical life skills, to learn more about themselves and people around them, gain confidence and ability to develop healthy relationships, to learn the principles and models of independent life.
These lessons consist of 10 modules, touching the most important issues of the present and future life of the target group of children:

-Personality

- Communication skills

- Health and hygiene

- Love and sex

- The gift of marriage

- Parenting

- Housekeeping

- Time and money management

- Job skills

- Legal rights

Each topic (module) consists of 3-7 sessions totaling up to 90 minutes.

Project «Firefly» (Trypillya boarding school, orphanage "Family" in Boyarka)

Project is carried out weekly; it is attended by children of 1-2 classes.

Purpose of the project: the spiritual development of children, forming the human values in them and moral norms of behavior in society.

Each lesson gives children the opportunity to learn a new Bible story.
Purpose of leading the program: teach children to analyze their actions, deeds of biblical characters, learn to make conclusions and apply their knowledge in life.

Program includes: viewing the animated cartoon "Superbook", reading verses from a children's Bible, learning songs, educational games, discussions, theatrical performances, making handicrafts.

Duration of lessons - 1,5 hours.
