A series of author’s seminars for married and meeting couples “And they lived happily ever after” was completed. Each of the six meetings took place monthly for the whole day, so that the partners could work productively on the relationship in a couple, take a fresh look at themselves and each other, learn acceptance, new interaction skills and become happier. The titles of the seminars were borrowed from fairy tales. And, as they say, a fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it, a good lesson for people… And fairy-tale therapy played an important role in these meetings. After all, everyone wants to live happily ever after with a loved one, but in order to achieve this, you need to work hard and become a hero yourself and defeat your personal dragons!
A lot of discoveries happened during these six months. Participants made the most interesting discoveries about themselves. After all, if we ourselves do not understand the reason for our weaknesses and shortcomings, we want to be not those who we are, but someone who is perfect in our view, then as a result we try and try our best, but it turns out “as always”. As the Apostle Paul said in the New Testament in his letter to the Romans: “For I don’t understand what I’m doing: because I’m not doing what I want, and what I hate, I do it” (7:15). After all, a broken leg can not be made to be flat: no matter how hard you try, it should be treated. It is the same with our soul. And this is exactly what psychology and mental care are doing. And when a person takes steps in accepting himself, it becomes much easier for him or her to accept the partner, and as a result of individual and teamwork, relationships begin to heal. This is what we observed during the program.
So the training participants studied their motives, feelings, desires and needs, learned to create a safe atmosphere in a couple, express their thoughts, take responsibility for their feelings and actions, define and build their boundaries, and trained to protect their couple from internal and external negative influences. They drew, answered questions, watched episodes from the films, pondered and talked a lot, shared their insights with each other, worked on many techniques and exercises, laughed and cried, wondered, dreamed, set goals, etc. In general, they did their best!
A lot of effort was made by the event organizers! From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Natalya Tkachenko – for the fabulous atmosphere and thematic photo zone for each individual workshop, Andrey Golovakha – for the magnificent photo-masterpieces and photo shoots, our dear volunteers Alyona Kudrina, Pavel Tkachenko, Natalia Shevchenko – for tea parties with sweets and technical support, as well as “Architectural Agency Polyakova” for a special treat for all participants. Special thanks to the authors and presenters of our program, a wonderful married couple and psychologists Sergey and Anya Grebtsovs. Thanks a lot! We are pleased that our “HOPE Worldwide Ukraine” charity foundation has become the ideological inspirer of this project and helped provide it into real life! And we wish all the participants of our seminars to live long and happy! And do not stop there!
“Ask, and it shall be given you; search and find; knock, and it shall be opened to you; for everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened”(Matthew 7: 7-8)

“I liked it. A friendly, pleasant, cheerful atmosphere, various interesting topics were touched upon, a better understanding of myself and the other. Thank you” (Lesia)

“Many thanks to all everyone who invested their strength, time and other resources in these seminars! It was a very useful and effective time! The life outlook changed for the better, a better understanding of myself and my partner appeared. I really liked art therapy”

“It was important for me to understand that there is no such relationship in which one can simply rest on the laurels, but moving forward together is exciting and interesting. I liked the atmosphere, practical tasks, catchy excerpts from movies, cartoons, discussions, art therapy. In general, you will not describe such impressions so briefly, because this way, passed in six months, as seeds, should sprout in daily work on relationships. Thank you to everyone who has put his heart, time, effort, finances, part in this project. May God guide you further in your ministry! This is a priceless experience, thanks!” (Luda)
