The educational training for the volunteers of “Hope Worldwide” Charity Foundation took place on September 15 in Irpin. We were happy to have over 150 volunteers from Kyiv as well as guests from Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa, Vinnytsya and Donetsk.
Two days of the training were fully loaded with communication and socializing, fresh air in pine tree forest, laughs and lots of new information. Everyone had an opportunity to study himself or herself and learn about their own values, needs and life principles. It helped to understand everyone’s own motivation to volunteer, define the needs of people one worked with. It is also important to possess such quality as assertiveness (ability of a person to defend her/his point of view without violating someone else’s moral rights, to react to criticism objectively and ability to say ‘No’ to himself/herself and others if there is a need for that). The participants of the training learnt how to develop this quality.
The second day was dedicated to the creation of the new projects, choosing the right place and role for every volunteer. We express our deep gratitude to Shawn Wooten for spiritual teaching, Maryna Romanenko for the workshop and joint development of new volunteer projects, employees of Kyiv City Social Service for Family and Youth – Lyubov Loriashvili, Olena Synytsya, Vira Drizo and Iryna Hulak for the workshops. We thank the organizers of the training as well as all volunteers-participants for amazing atmosphere of kindness, care and optimism and wish you a successful volunteering year!
