On Saturday, December 21, adult and young volunteers held a New Year festive concert and arranged sweet treats for the residents of Kyiv Geriatric Nursing Home (Kyiv, Budarina st., 11). Performances of youngsters with Down Syndrome became a special part of the festive program. They prepared a fairytale play and came to the nursing home together with the volunteers to greet the elderly. No one was alone and left out – after the concert, the volunteers brought sweets to the rooms and socialized with those who were on bedrest. The warmth of people’s feelings and care are the best gifts for holidays and in daily life. We hope that the visits to the geriatric nursing home will continue as a good tradition in new 2014 year.
