From February 03 till February 22, 2017 the trainers-volunteers held “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions for the group of children in Slovyansk Specialized Boarding School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children #23. 10 children aged 12-13 years participated in the therapy course. According to the feedback testing after therapy session the level of avoidance, intrusion and hyper-agitation in children lowered, general health and mood improved.
Therapy sessions were conducted by trainers-volunteers, students of Donbas State Pedagogical University, Yulia Ardelian and Olena Biriukova, who took part in “Children and War” training in Slovyansk. The course was held within Phase V of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” International Relief Project which started in January 2017. It is implemented by “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” charity foundation with the financial support from Canadian charitable organizations including “HOPE worldwide Canada”.
