“Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” training was held in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region on March 17-19, 2017. The event was organized in partnership with “Caritas-Kramatorsk” charitable foundation that actively works in Severodonetsk. 16 participants – psychologists, pedagogues, social workers, volunteers from Rubizhne, Maryinka, Kharkiv and Severodonetsk itself – participated in the training.
The training was held within Phase V of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” international relief project implemented starting from January 2017 by “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” charity foundation with financial support from “HOPE worldwide” (USA) and “HOPE worldwide Canada” international charitable organizations.
Severodonetsk is a city located in 20 km from the front line; it felt the destructive influence of military actions. Here one can often hear shootings from Lysychansk and other neighbouring towns. Many IDPs from Luhansk region live here, particularly, a lot of families with children, the elderly and disabled people.
