In the city of Pokrovsk (Donetsk region), the supervision for specialists who provide psychological assistance in their hometown was held. Psychologists were consulted and supervised by Iryna Sukhova, coordinator and chief psychologist of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” international relief project. The supervision is aimed at supporting and mentoring volunteers, preventing professional risks. Communication was positive, constructive and aimed at future projects. At present, psychologists in Pokrovsk conduct “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions for 18 people (10 children and 8 adults), residents of Pokrovsk and Avdiivka, as well as internally displaced persons. Sessions are held at the Center of Psychosocial Rehabilitation of NaUKMA in Pokrovsk. The therapy is aimed at overcoming stress and psychological disorders. It gives positive results – anxiety in children is reduced, overall well-being and mood improve. They learn to cope with their own fears, to understand and control their feelings. The funds for the therapy in Pokrovsk were raised during “Gala of HOPE” charity concert held in June 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland. It was organised by “HOPE worldwide Zurich” and “u l t r a S c h a l l” ensemble.
