“Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions continue in the two groups in Kramatorsk school #15 (Donetsk region) within the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project. Kramatorsk is a post-war city that suffered from hostilities, and gradually is returning to a peaceful life. Military wounds are healing, houses and roads are being restored. Yet, the wounds in people’s hearts still need to be healed. Therapy sessions for 17 children are held by Kateryna Bakhmetieva and Tetyana Karpenko, certified trainers of the “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” program. During the sessions children learn to cope with anxiety, nightmares, obsessive memories. They master breathing and relaxation techniques, draw their fears, transform negative thoughts into positive ones and dream of a happy and peaceful future. Let it be!
The funds for the therapy in Donetsk region were raised during “Gala of HOPE” charity concert held in June 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland. It was organised by “HOPE worldwide Zurich” and “u l t r a S c h a l l” ensemble.
