On January 24, 2019, in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region, within the framework of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project, 20 new specialists received certificates from the “Children and War. Teaching Recovery Techniques”. After learning the methodology of this program in November last year, they conducted 22 therapeutic groups for children and their parents. In general, for the second half of 2018 in the Donetsk region (Gornyak, Ukrainsk, Pokrovsk, Mirnograd) 231 children and 84 parents received psychological assistance. At the event, new coaches talked about the effectiveness of the program “Children and War” and noted that its strength is in its simplicity of use and practicality, that it is perfectly adapted to different ages and is aimed at working with symptoms, and also helps to avoid retraumatization. Specialists expressed their willingness and interest in continuing to apply the methodology in the schools where they work. “Children and War” is a unique program for use in schools, approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. We congratulate the new coaches and look forward to further cooperation in order to continue giving courage, freedom and health to Ukrainian children together.
