On April 3, a group supervisory meeting was held in Svatovo, Lugansk region for the trainers of the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques”, who are currently working with children and parental groups of psychological support in the Luhansk region. The coaches were supported by the psychologists of the project “Helping Hand for Ukraine” Irina and Alexey Sukhov from Kiev. The participants discussed the difficulties they encountered during the organization and gathering of groups. Among them – the passivity of parents and their unwillingness to work with children to solve problems arising from PTSD. It was noted at the meeting how important it is for parents to pay attention to the physical and emotional state of the child, to be able to listen to him and accept the feelings he experiences, in order to provide the necessary support on time. After all, parents are the most important people in the lives of their children, they can give them strength and wings to overcome difficulties, but unfortunately, today not all parents understand this and are ready to learn it. The trainers of the program emphasized that the children themselves willingly and with great joy resorted to classes. After all, self-help techniques that they learn here to help them deal with their fears, dreams, nightmares and anxiety, so with each class children become more calm, happy and confident. We wish them further success in the work on themselves and healing!
