In the last month of autumn, classes began on the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” in the Central Committee “Center for the comprehensive rehabilitation of children with disabilities” in the city of Rubezhnoye, Luhansk Region. And on November 19, psychologists of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project, Irina and Aleksey Sukhov, came there to support coaches and group members. Self-help technicians at the Center are trained by personnel – rehabilitologists, massage therapists, educators, as well as the director of the Center and the supply manager. All of them receive an invaluable resource for working with special children, because it takes so much strength. They share their ways to deal with stress and learn new ones. And “working through” their wounds, these strong adults become even stronger and can go on with patience and faith to their patients. A special moment for everyone is to play and laugh like children. Many thanks to the trainers Elena Bezruchko and Raisa Babina, who were able to create an atmosphere of acceptance, ease and warm care for each member of the group.
