Tatyana Kuzmenko is a practicing psychologist and senior lecturer in the Department of Education and Practical Psychology Management at the State Pedagogical University named after Grigory Skovoroda in Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, Kiev Region. In January 2018, as part of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project, Tatyana and her colleagues underwent certified training under the “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” in Kiev. And in the spring of that year, they together held several therapeutic groups at the university for their students. Experience and good results inspired Tatyana from September 2019 to include the program “Children and War” into the course “Group Psychocorrection”, which she teaches at the university. “The programs of disciplines at our faculty are formed by the teachers themselves”, – says Tatyana. – From the very beginning of acquaintance with the training on the “Children and War” methodology, I had the feeling that it was a good quality product. And after using the program in practice, I decided to introduce it into my course at the level of teaching for students – future psychologists. We analyze techniques and their combination, we conduct some exercises in the classroom. Students` feedback is positive”.
We are glad that the program “Children and War” continues to be useful and effective in Ukraine when dealing with trauma, and we wish success to all specialists who, studying under the program, share their experience with those who need it!
