On May 22, 2015, the first training for trainers within the joint charity project “Helping Hand” of “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” and “HOPE worldwide of Canada” started in Kyiv. Ten participants of the training, practicing psychologists and psychotherapists, are learning how to use “Children and War. Teaching Recovery Techniques” program in their work with children, traumatized by war in Eastern Ukraine. “Children and War. Teaching Recovery Techniques” has been developed in frames of cooperation between the Center for Crisis Psychology (Bergen, Norway) and the Institute of Psychiatry (London, Great Britain), and has been translated and adapted by the experts from Ukrainian Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Lviv, Ukraine).
The training for trainers will last for three days. Basing on the results of the training and following practical approbation, a project trainers’ team will be formed. Throughout the year, the team will train psychologists, social workers and teachers all over Ukraine.
Congratulations to the project team on their first event! We wish you success for the days to come!
