“Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions have been held at school #25 in Novodruzhesk, Luhansk region. School psychologists and trainers of the “Children and War” program, Maryna Hak and Olha Trushkina have worked with 10 children within the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project. The specialists have done an incredibly important and useful work; they helped children to master breathing techniques and relaxation techniques, taught them how to cope with obsessive memories, anxiety, fears, nightmares. They also created an atmosphere of warmth and love, so much needed by every child who lives in the zone of military conflict in Eastern Ukraine. Iryna Sukhova, the project leader and chief psychologist visited one of the therapy sessions and held a supervision session for the psychologists.
The funds for the therapy in Luhansk region were raised during “Gala of HOPE” charity concert held in June 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland. It was organised by “HOPE worldwide Zurich” and “u l t r a S c h a l l” ensemble.
