“Children and War. Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions with 11 children traumatized by the military activities in Eastern Ukraine are held in the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. Sessions are conducted in the center of the NGO “My city Rubizhne” twice a week, and will continue for a month. They are held by psychologists-volunteers Tetyana Oboyanska and Olena Melnykovich, who were previously trained and certified. The main purpose of therapy is to increase the psychological resistance to stress caused by the continuing military activities. The program of sessions includes techniques for lowering anxiety, fear, and also acquiring of emotional and behavioral self-regulation skills. The therapy in Rubizhne is carried out within the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project implemented by the “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation, with the financial support of the international charity organization “HOPE worldwide Canada”.
