In May 2021, in Krasnogorovka and Novomikhaylovka, Donetsk region, classes under the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” took place in two groups: children and adults. Yana Dunaeva and Mikhail Shapovalov worked with the children at Krasnogorov school # 4. The specialists paid a lot of attention to the participants, listened to each patiently and gave a lot of acceptance and warmth in the small safe space of the training. All this inspired the children to come to classes with pleasure and actively master the techniques of self-help. In Novomikhaylovka, Elena Kravtsova and Mikhail Shapovalov trained the villagers. For the members of this group, life was divided into two parts: BEFORE the war and NOW. Some of them survived the war, someone continues to experience it in their memories. In addition, shelling in this village continues to this day, so the program has become very, very relevant for everyone. Women learned to calm down, tune in to the positive, cope with anxiety and intrusive pictures, and were surprised to remember that once before the war they loved to embroider, bake pies and sing. Little by little, their lives are changing for the better. Simply because they want her to get better.
The trainers of the Children and War program Mikhail Shapovalov, Yana Dunaeva and Elena Kravtsova are employees of the Man in Need organization (https://www.facebook.com/PeopleInNeedUkraine/).
