That`s the opening of the new project of the “HOPE Worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation – the Club for the Elderly “Life is Beautiful” (Kiev) took place. The goal of the project is to create a space for the elderly, where they could spend time together with benefit and pleasure: communicate, learn, engage in creative work, play music, discover new horizons (for which they did not have enough time in the old days), being filled with emotion and shooting consequences of negative environmental influences.
The first meeting of the club was held under the motto “Life is beautiful!” Christian psychologist Gulnara Semenova told the guests about the age characteristics of people in this category, their emotional state, needs and requirements, prospects and opportunities. The conversation took place in a warm atmosphere, where club members could share about their lives and raise issues that require special attention. Thanks to the musical talent of Igor Krast, our guests plunged into the pleasant memories of their youth, singing especially beloved and dear songs for them. And at the art therapy master class, Galina Belobrovenko helped the club members recall and experience long-forgotten emotions, when they could just paint like children, enjoying the results of their creations and experiencing the same vivid and diverse sensations as the palette of colours on their table.
Thanks a lot to the club leaders (Gulnara Semenova, Igor Krast, Galina Belobrovenko), as well as to all the program participants for a wonderful start and their contribution to the implementation of a new project!
The next meeting of the “Life is Beautiful” Club is scheduled for February, that will be announced later on.
