On March 4-6, within the framework of the “Helping Hand to Ukraine” project, a training program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” was held in Drohobych, Lviv region. 33 participants of the event – psychologists, students and volunteers. Among them are residents of Drohobych, as well as immigrants who have found refuge from the war in this city and are already ready to be useful and provide assistance to those who need it. Drogobych has already received more than 2,000 refugees from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Izyum and other cities of our heroic Ukraine, and people keep coming. The training took place on the initiative of the Drogobych Humanitarian Coordination Center in cooperation with the Faculty of Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work of the Drogobych State Pedagogical University named by Ivan Franko. The event discussed the psychological characteristics of experiencing traumatic events (such as war) and methods of first psychological aid, as well as learning how to work under the program “Children and War”.
