On December 24, 2016 the fourth “Children and War” therapy session for IDP children and their parents took place in Dnipro. Previous sessions were held on November 26, December 10 and December 17 respectively. Three more sessions are to be held in January 2017.
Therapy sessions are conducted by 6 psychologists-trainers who participated in the “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” training, held by the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project trainers in Dnipro. 12 children (primary school kids and teenagers) and 7 parents participate in the sessions.
Organisational support is provided by local partner organization – “Dopomoga Dnipra” (Dnipro’s Assistance) charitable organisation. Therapy sessions in Dnipro are conducted within Phase IV of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” International Relief Project, aimed at provision of psychological assistance to children, traumatized by war in Eastern Ukraine.
