The participants of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project receive certificates of the “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” trainers on February 15, 2018 in Slovyansk, Donetsk region.
These are the psychologists, volunteers and students from Slovyansk, Pokrovsk, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Hostre, Maksymilianivka, Hirnyk villages. In October 2017 they finished the education based on the program. During six months under supervision of the experienced project trainers and with support of the “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation they conducted a couple of therapy courses for parents and children living in the zone of the war conflict in Eastern Ukraine. During the meeting the participants shared their impressions about work at the project, asked questions and dreamed about future without a war.
Currently, a huge number of people who are in need of professional psychological assistance live in the conflict territory of the Donetsk region. Thus, the “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” training for volunteers and psychologists is designed to provide knowledge and innovative practical skills in dealing with the war trauma. The acquired techniques of psychological self-help, relaxation and recovery are passed on to children and their parents so that they can effectively deal with traumatic experiences and stress.
The funds for the training were raised during “Gala of HOPE” charity concert held in June 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland. It was organised by “HOPE worldwide Zurich” and “u l t r a S c h a l l” ensemble.
