From June 30 to July 4, within the framework of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project, several supervisions of trainers of the “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” program took place in the Luhansk region. Psychologists from Kiev Irina and Aleksey Sukhov came to support the coaches from Rubezhnoye and Svatovo, who were immensely happy to meet. Kiev specialists shared their personal experience of working with trauma and encouraged their colleagues who devote their time, energy and knowledge to the health of children and adults living with them in the same city.
In addition, a meeting was held with the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Svatove.City” Olga Naydenova, to whom Irina and Alexey presented the project “Helping Hand for Ukraine”. Olga noted that the topic of dealing with stress and the consequences of hostilities is currently very important for the residents of her city, and was personally interested in participating in the “Children and War” program.
Irina and Aleksey Sukhov also visited the project partners in Gorsky (a branch of the Popasnyansky regional center for social rehabilitation of disabled children “Leleka”) and in Zolote (“Union of Samaritians of Ukraine”) and brought them office supplies, toys, clothes and shoes for those in need. Such friendly meetings always leave joy and warmth in the soul.
