On September 19, 2015, the volunteers of “HOPE worldwide of Canada” presented the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” International Relief Project during the annual Toronto Ukrainian Festival in Canada.
The multinational group of over 25 HOPE volunteers marched in Ukrainian Festival Parade together with hundreds of other participants. They also presented the project at the Ukrainian Credit Union’s building and spread project flyers amongst the visitors of the Festival.
Taras Kulish, International Relations Officer at “HOPE worldwide of Canada, stated that “Canada is at the forefront of democratic countries supporting Ukraine. However, we cannot forget that many people have lost their families, their homes, and suffered from horrible traumatic events of war. In addition to the humanitarian aid, shelter and food, the people, especially children, directly affected by the War in Eastern Ukraine, need psychological assistance. The “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project will help children overcome the long term effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders. Support from the Ukrainian-Canadian community and the Canadian community at large is essential. Therefore, we are happy to take part in the Festival, one of the largest Ukrainian events in North America”.
