On February 20, the volunteers of “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation held another art-therapy workshop for the elderly residing in Kyiv Nursing Home for Labor Veterans (Kyiv, Zhukova st., 2).
Everyone missed each other during the winter quarantine; volunteers and the elderly spoke to each other, shared the latest news and exchanged hugs. A lot of nursing home residents came to the art-therapy. And the volunteers were happy to look for additional chairs so everyone could join the meeting.
The workshop was dedicated to sand therapy, which gave an opportunity to play with sand, “paint” on it and even build a dream castle. During this workshop they used semolina instead of sand. The participants spend quality time together, shared their feelings, emotions and memories. Sand therapy had its magical power: everyone was in good mood and even after presenting their “semolina masterpieces”, they kept socializing.
