Due to COVID-19 coronavirus disease, we all found ourselves in a difficult position. On the one hand, quarantine and isolation help to maintain people’s health, on the other hand, we observe increased anxiety and elementary loneliness. Especially among children and the elderly who are constantly at home for the past three months. The trainers of the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” from Svatovo, Lugansk region, found a way out of this situation. In June, Alena Dorogavtseva and Olga Krivonos began classes on the Children and War program with children who were bored at home. Ten children of primary school age gather in a city park in an outdoor gazebo, observing all protection rules recommended by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Health Organization. Each lesson begins with the treatment of hands with an antiseptic. Participants receive snacks in individual packaging. Everyone uses masks. It turned out to be very convenient: if you write your name on the mask, then it turns into a creative badge. Trainers take care of a minimum of contacts. And even the activator games that children love so much are now non-contact. The children really missed talking and the whole first lesson talked incessantly among themselves, almost not noticing the adults. But then they managed to attract their attention, and this is the fourth lesson when they are working on their fears, learning to relax their muscles and think positively. It is nice to see how they enjoy communication without gadgets.
