In October in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, several groups started under the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques”. Svetlana Morgunova and Olga Kostina conduct classes at school number 7 with fifth graders and their parents. Children openly and emotionally share their traumatic stories that not every adult could handle, and each story touches to the core. Coaches do their best to help children and adults healing their deep spiritual wounds.
At school number 16, Yaroslava Tanciur and Olga Belichkina are studying with second-graders. The group conducted testing, established the rules and objectives of the classes, and also established the first warm emotional contact. Despite their young age, participants are committed to fruitful work.
The theme of the war is complex, but very relevant for this region. There are a lot of people who want to work with the trauma of war at school number 5 – 19 children! And the program coaches Irina Bernatskaya and Victoria Tikhonova do everything possible so that the children can safely and confidentially share their difficult stories, and teach them self-help techniques that will definitely come in handy in the fight against their fears, anxieties and obsessive memories.
