June 07, 2021 – in the period from May 08 till June 03, the psychologists of “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation held the first phase of the online supervision meetings for the “Helping Hand for Ukraine: Psycho-Social Support Program” Project participants who conduct “Children and War” therapy sessions for children in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In May-September 2021 within the Project, we plan to hold six online supervisory meetings for each group of the participants (psychologists, educators, volunteers). The participants work with the supervisors in small groups of up to 6 people; they meet regularly several times per month. Half of the online supervisions (27 meetings) have been already held. During these meetings, the participants shared their own experience of working with children, discussed the outcomes of the therapy sessions, psychological and emotional state of the group and their own.

The next online meetings with the Project participants are planned for June and September.

The “Helping Hand for Ukraine: Psycho-Social Support Program” Project is aimed at contributing to the improvement of the mental health and rehabilitation services for children with war trauma in Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine by introducing a psychosocial support training program to school psychologists, social workers, and pedagogical students. We aspire to strengthen the competencies of mental health care and rehabilitation specialists and increase the access to psychological rehabilitation services development activities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Project is financed from the funds of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
