On January 24, in Odesa, the school psychologists who were trained within the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project, received certificates of the “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” program. Ira Sukhova, project leader and chief psychologist handed out the certificates.
A three-day training session for specialists was held last October. After the training the therapy courses were held in 11 schools of the city – 129 children received emotional self-regulation skills and learned to cope with the consequences of psychological war trauma.
During a meeting held at the Center for Psychosocial Assistance “Commonwealth”, the psychologists shared their impressions, children’s victories over their fears, as well as their personal successes, many of which helped to cope with their own emotional problems.
The “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to the “Commonwealth” Center for Psychological Assistance, Odesa City Department of Education and Halyna Yenikeyeva, the regional coordinator of the project!
The funds for the training were raised during “Gala of HOPE” charity concert held in June 2017 in Zurich, Switzerland. It was organised by “HOPE worldwide Zurich” and “u l t r a S c h a l l” ensemble.
