On November 28, supervision of one of the classes on the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques” took place at school No. 13 of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, where Kiev specialists and psychologists Irina and Alexey Sukhov arrived. Trainers Tatyana Bilobrova and Kristina Kravchenko are already quite experienced: in the spring of this year they conducted groups in Kramatorsk, and in the summer worked on the “Children and War” program at the children’s camp in Svyatogorsk. Now they transfer their experience and knowledge to 15 teenagers. The group gathered was not simple: the adolescents make themselves felt, plus the complex stories of each of them related to the war and difficult life circumstances. But thanks to the patience, acceptance and unconditional love of the trainers, everything succeeds: to negotiate with violators of the discipline, and switch the focused attention to interesting, useful exercises, and resolve conflicts that arise. In the lesson, the children worked through their nightmares, mastered new techniques of self-help in the fight against fears and stress, collected copying strategies into lists and, of course, played and talked.
