On November 20, psychologists of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project Irina and Alexey Sukhov attended one of the group’s activities under the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovering Techniques”, which took place at comprehensive school No.4 of Lisichansk, Luhansk region. Classes are taught by Natalya Bandurova and Olga Savelyeva. Natalya was trained as a trainer of this program back in 2018, and gained the experience with working with groups of children in her hometown over the past year inspired her very much. Therefore, as soon as she found out about the new training of specialists in October 2019, she immediately recommended the training to Olga, a psychologist from her school. Now Natalya is very happy that she has a reliable co-trainer, and together with Olga, they are currently helping to master the self-help techniques of seven schoolchildren aged 13-15. In the class on November 20, the guys worked with their traumatic events, practiced techniques that used imagination, painted obsessive memories that tormented them, and with pleasure then tore these drawings into small pieces. After the lesson, the trainers and the supervisors discussed the important details of the work processes and developed a plan for further actions.
