December 19 and 21, 2018 within the framework of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” project in the city of Mirnograd, Donetsk Region, supervisions were held for the coaches of the program “Children and War. Teaching Recovery Techniques”. The project manager and psychologist Irina Sukhova and psychologist Alexei Sukhov attended therapeutic group classes in secondary school No. 4 (coaches Olga Poslavskaya and Yevgenia Talkova) and in the Teaching-educational gymnasium complex (coaches Olesya Chepenko and Liliana Gelikh).

Schoolchildren of 9-11 years old are engaged in these groups. Among them there are children with special needs, children from large families and families with difficult life circumstances, migrants and orphans. To keep the attention of such children is very difficult, but it is even more difficult to gain their trust and respect. They attract and repel at the same time, because it was more than once the significant for them adults betrayed or neglected them. Therefore, each lesson is a small step towards the healing of child’s heart. As one of the moms told the trainers: “I don’t know what you are doing there in the classroom, but my daughter began to play a psychologist. She puts the toys in a circle, hugs them in turn and teaches some exercises. ”

And the guys were very supported by the gifts that Irina and Alexey Sukhovs brought from Kiev. They sincerely rejoiced at such a pleasant surprise.

We wish all the children and coaches peace, strength, inspiration, healing heat!
