From February 03 till February 22, 2017 the trainers-volunteers held “Children and War: Teaching Recovery Techniques” therapy sessions for the group of children in Boarding School #1 in Slovyansk (Donetsk region). 19 children aged 9-10 years participated in therapy sessions where they learned to cope with their fears and aftermaths of traumatizing events. Children shared their fears and hopes, played games and opened up.
Therapy sessions were conducted by trainers-volunteers, students of Donbas State Pedagogical University, Anna Harbuz and Yulia Svystun, who took part in “Children and War” training in Slovyansk. The course was held within Phase V of the “Helping Hand for Ukraine” International Relief Project which started in January 2017. It is implemented by “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” charity foundation with the financial support from Canadian charitable organizations including “HOPE worldwide Canada”.
