On December 19, on Saint Nicolas Day, a holiday long-awaited by every child, the volunteers from “HOPE worldwide Ukraine” Charity Foundation visited children in the boarding school in Velykopolovetske village. The volunteers had a wish to bring faith in children’s lives. They brought present for all children in the boarding school. The presents were prepared by active volunteer and with the support of caring Facebook users.
Many children decided to stay at school and meet the guests (over 60 kids!). Volunteers and children went to classes and had regular lessons within “To Know God” and “Superbook Club” programs. The “Art-Salon” was also open, thus children who didn’t go to any class could master their creativity there. They were making New Year greeting cards and Christmas tree decorations out of colored paper.
During this trip the volunteers held a first lesson for the youngest kids (“Kindergarten” group). Together they learned about creation of the world. After the lesson volunteers and kids were busy with making figures out of colored dough. Children were very excited and happy!
After the lessons everyone enjoyed tasty treats. All children received presents from Saint Nicolas. On that day they also had fun at the New Year disco-party. Children also said that they were looking forward to the next meetings with their friends-volunteers in 2016.
